If you want to escape from the hustle and bustle of the Norfolk coast, Ringstead is for you!
This peaceful conservation village is just two miles inland from Hunstanton and the beaches.
The majority of the houses are located in the attractive high street where you will find one of our best kept secrets, Tim and Cathy’s Village Store.
Ringstead Village Store sells all that you want and more! From fresh bread to local organic meat from nearby Courtyard farm, to wines and spirits, to local Norfolk cheeses and seasonal vegetables. They also have a fantastic collection of antiques and bric a brac for you to literally spend hours browsing at your leisure.
At the bottom of the hill, you will find our local inn, The Gin Trap which serves excellent food and serves local beers. If you would like to visit their website and see what local treats are in store for you, please do: www.thegintrapinn.co.uk. This is a charming old coaching inn which is very traditional but with a bright, airy modern conservatory on the side. Outside, you even have a great drinking area where the local village stocks are situated in case anyone misbehaves!
One of the best Landmarks in Norfolk is St Andrew’s Church in Ringstead. This church stands majestically on the hill and is a beacon of bright light at night. There is a communion service every Sunday at 9.15am. Quite high church is what we say!
A stroll a way from Little Barn, you will come across Ringstead Downs – a haven for peace and tranquility and bird life. Also loved by dog walkers. In fact if you follow the path you will end up in Hunstanton and on thursdays, ancient bylaws allow you to walk through to Old Hunstanton Hall.
